Key facts

Partnership opportunity

The public health systems have failed at keeping up with demand as the population grows not just in size but in average age, requiring even more specialized attention.

Corruption scandals plague the public institutions leaving hospitals with shortages of medicines and personnel. A massive investment program is needed to modernize current infrastructure to keep up with international standards, but politicians prefer to allocate the scarce budget to fundsocial programs that have a bigger, although short term, impact with their voting constituency.

To address the public health services gap, Garantia and BACKBONE partnered in raising a fund to finance SMEs (clinics, health care centers, medical offices) that provide private accessible health care services.

The right to health should not be conditioned to income level.

We believe that innovations in the medical equipment industry offer today a great opportunity to develop medical attention units that offer excellent quality services at an affordable rate, giving a viable alternative for millions of people in middle-low and low income segments to receive the attention they deserve.
